SEC makes clear statement -They’re scared of the ACC.

#StayHealthy and practice social distancing

When the SEC announced their schedule for 2020, it was without a non-conference game option.  From that Yahoo article..

The ACC on Wednesday announced a reworked 11-game schedule that left room for one nonconference game and made famously independent Notre Dame a member of a league for the first time in the 133-year history of Fighting Irish football.

The ACC wanted to allow four of its schools to maintain in-state rivalry games with SEC schools, but now Georgia-Georgia Tech, Florida-Florida State, Clemson-South Carolina and Kentucky-Louisville have been canceled.

Well I don’t know what clearer evidence we need to see. The SEC is scared to played their ACC in-state rivals. It is obvious, and no other conclusion can be reached. Each of these games are among the shortest trips of any of these schools, and could be made by bus.

Florida State, Clemson, and Louisville would have been hosting their SEC opponents.

Is the SEC concerned about 3 road ACC games in their home states? It does seem a little strange. The SEC has had the upperhand of late in these rivalry games going 6-2 the last two years.

It basically comes down to this if you’re scared SEC just say you’re scared.

For the ACC, I would use the open non-conference spot on the schedule to play a local in-state school.

For Clemson for example, schedule a game with the Citadel in a true state championship. I mean the Citadel has beaten South Carolina 2 of the 3 last times they’ve played. It’s probably an upgrade in schedule strength for Clemson anyways.

OK SEC fans that read the article – this is obviously just a little tongue and cheek to poke some fun at the bear.

I’m still hoping for a season, and having some of this banter with real games.
