Ranking the Top 50 football players in the ACC for 2020. (41-45)

#StayHealthy and practice social distancing

Well we are still hoping there will be a college football season. There are plenty of posts regarding the probability of that, but if there is we’re going to have top 50 ACC players ranked for the season. We’ll largely take our top 5 at each position rankings for 45 of the 50.

Players 1-5 | Players 6-10 | Players 11-15 | Players 16-20 | Players 21-25 | Players 26-30 | Players 31-35 | Players 36-40 | Players 46-50

41) David Bailey, Boston College – #5 Running Back in the ACC

Playing behind AJ Dillon, David Bailey still had 844 yards on the ground with a near 6 yards per carry average in an honorable mention All-ACC season. A physical back Bailey looks to have a breakout 2020 season, as he takes over the lead back role at Boston College from Dillon.

I could easily see Bailey have a over 1,200 yards rushing this upcoming season.

42) Sam Hartman, Wake Forest

Wake Forest lost starting QB Jamie Newman to transfer, but Sam Hartmann is ready to fill in without the Wake Forest offense missing a beat. . In 2 of his 4 appearance he had over 300 yards passing, and was name by Athlon as one of their top 35 FBS Projected Breakout Players for 2020.  He is going to put of huge numbers this season.

43) Tre Swilling, Georgia Tech – #4 Cornerback in the ACC

Tre Swilling is son of Georgia Tech legend Pat Swilling, but he’s making a name for himself as one of the best CBs in the ACC. He had 10 passes defended last season, to go along with fumble recovery and interception. Scouts love his ball skills, and as a RS JR, is already projected to be a mid round NFL pick looking to move higher.

44) Joey Blount, Virginia – #4 Safety in the ACC

Joey Blount came to Virginia as a bit of unheralded recruit, and has turned into one of the ACC’s best safeties. The productive Blount had 95 tackles last season with three interceptions.

He returns as the highest graded run-stopper for a safety in the ACC.

45) Liam Eichenberg, Notre Dame  – Would have been the #5 Offensive Lineman in the ACC

Liam Eichenberg is a potential 1st round NFL pick for 2021. The fact I’ve ranked him 5th in the ACC speaks to the fact the ACC has a number of early round NFL caliber offensive linemen this season. He’s 6-6 and 305 and moves extremely well.
