We’ve all been wondering what sports will look like in the fall. With alarming COVID-19 rises in cases in places like Texas, Florida, South Carolina, California and Arizona, sports may not be on the table at all. Should fans be in attendance what will it look like?
We’ve already said mask wearing could be on the table, with limited attendance.
Now with two movie theater chains releasing their attendance guidelines, we may have a more concrete blue print for fall sports fan attendance.
Here are some highlights from the theater chain guidelines, that sports venues may very well employ.
Regal Cinemas has updated its reopening policy and will now require guests to wear face masks at their locations when theaters are able to resume business.
“Our current mask policy requires both employees and guests to wear masks at all Regal theaters,” a company spokesperson told Variety.
Theater capacity will be reduced to 50% to comply with social distancing guidelines. They will also ensure plenty of space between rows and individual seats to reduce crowding.
Regal’s other safety precautions include contactless payment and improved cleaning between each screening
Vending machines, drinking fountains, self-service condiment stands, in-theatre dining and other restaurants will be closed.
Those look like guidelines that could go straight from a movie theater to a sports venue.
