Five thoughts on the 2020 @AthlonSports All-ACC Team.

As we head towards the college football season, we’ll start looking at pre-season rankings, pre-season player awards, predictions and more.

@AthlonSports released their All-ACC team.

What 5 things stood out to me on their All-ACC team?

  1. Boston College put 4 of their offensive linemen on the 1st and 2nd All-ACC teams. Can you say that might be the best O-Line in the ACC?
  2. North Carolina put 2 RB, 2 WR, and 1 QB on the 4 All-ACC teams. That’s more than Clemson, and when was the last time you could argue that another ACC school, has similar skill position talent as Clemson.
  3. 4 Syracuse players are on the 4 All-ACC teams. It was barely two years ago Syracuse had a 10 win top 15 season, and now they enter 2020 as the arguably the least talented ACC team. Even roster re-building Georgia Tech had 6.
  4. Virginia Tech had 13 All-ACC players. That’s just 1 fewer than Clemson. Did Justin Fuente quietly put together the conference’s 2nd most talented team?
  5. Two years ago Clemson had the best defensive line in college football, one of the best ever. This year Clemson  doesn’t have one 1st team All-ACC pre-season player. I’d expect Brent Venables to have another elite defense, but the unit will have to develop over the course of the season if Clemson is to win the national title.
