Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney has taken some heat from the media for his response to the George Floyd tragedy and a past event at Clemson where an assistant coach used inappropriate language.
I’m not here to say Swinney is infallible or doesn’t have some learning opportunities ahead of him, but let those who are closest to him – former and current Clemson athletes speak on the character of Dabo Swinney.
Who would be more equipped to do that? Not me, not a member of the media, and certainly not opposing fans. Here’s a sampling of what those former /current players and coaches said about Swinney this week.
Also a lot going on that you don’t see bro, trust me. The whole team would say the same thing as well. https://t.co/rEltRyh0T5

Coach Swinney is not bringing pain to this team or any of us as players. He’s the most honest and humble coach in college football. So don’t come shooting as his character like you know him or know what goes on on this team. I promise you we straight ov here. https://t.co/PnTNdJ8vUH

From former QB Tajh Boyd in an article from RubbingtheRock.
“What he said I believe is sincere,” Boyd said in a radio interview with Golic and Wingo. “Coach Swinney loves at such a deep level. It’s hard for him to sometimes see what everything looks like. But the most important thing is he takes heed to what’s being said and he listens. If you look at his surrounding cast, some of his most wise council are African-American men. There are coaches within his circle and people on his staff that can help him understanding the conversation being had right now. People are fighting and screaming for acknowledgement.”
Y’all get off Dabo man😅 at this point y’all just trying to fill headlines and that’s sad
