Around the ACC Blogosphere for May 9, 2020: ACC Podcast Edition

Good evening, Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) sports fans.  Just a quick post for this morning.

In a prior blog post, we dropped some Virginia Tech Hokies podcast recommendations.  As we continue the eighth week of social distancing and quarantine life in ACC country, we also thought we would drop a few more podcasts for you to listen to from an ACC athletics perspective.

With further ado, here we go:

  1. All Sports Discussion.  We certainly have to plug our on site, All Sport Discussion. Jeffrey Fann (@TalkinACCSports) and I (@Hokiesmash_ASD) have the longest running independent ACC podcast in the United States.  Jeff is a Georgia Tech and Clemson alum – and I’m a Virginia Tech alum so we provide a broad base of knowledge.  We have new and repeat guests on the show all of the time (they are great – they make our show) – and we cover the entire ACC.  W We specialize in ACC football and men’s basketball, but you will hear us talk about other ACC sports.  You will also hear some occasional talk about the Frozen Four (e.g. the Men’s NCAA Division I Ice Hockey finals) and the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision.  Sometime during 2020, Jeff and I will hit 350 episodes.  The @AllSportsDACC podcast is almost at the seven year mark.
  2. ACC Nation.  We consider ACC Nation our brothers. @WillsWorldMN, @ACCTheQ, and @ACCMidnightInk (welcome back to the suite) provide great material not only on their site, but have a great podcast.  It’s been running for quite a while now.  The guys at ACC Nation cover every ACC sport.
  3. ACC Basketball Report – Mychal Hunter (@ACCBR1) is the man – unquestionably has the best ACC basketball podcast out there – and one of the best college hoops podcasts on the Internet.  Hunter and the ACC basketball report team keep track of ACC hoops quite well.  Make sure you follow him on Twitter and subscribe to his podcast.
  4. The Basketball Conference Podcast: The ACC Football Podcast.  The @BCPodcastACC is run by @MikeMcDanielSI and @FTRSJoey.  They specialize in ACC football.
  5. Chowder and Grits – Chowder and Grits is run by Justin Coachiola (@ItsCoachiola) and Tim Huerth (@timmyjimmm).  They run a Hokies-Centric ACC football and men’s basketball podcast – and it’s fun to see one out there.  They are fun to communicate with on Twitter.
  6. Maroon Men (@Maroon_Men) – Maroon Men is another Hokies-Centric ACC football podcast.  They do not broadcast throughout the year (they kind of stop when ACC basketball starts so their content is somewhat sporadic) – but they are worth a listen
  7. An ACC Podcast with Lauren Brownlow.  This is SB Nation’s recently started ACC podcast.  Here’s a description of the podcast:  “Lauren Brownlow talks ACC basketball, joined by fans and experts to get a feel for what the story really is. If you’re a fan of the basketball programs at Duke, UNC, Virginia, Louisville, Florida State, Syracuse, Notre Dame, or any other ACC school, you’ll want to follow along!”  You can follow Lauren Brownlow on Twitter at @LEBrownlow.

** Bonus 1:  Check out the podcast from our friend @HereGoJayAgain – it’s called the Podcast of Versatility.  The podcast Twitter account is @VersatilityPod. **

** Bonus 2:  Check out the NC State podcast from our friend @ER who operates @RedWhitePodcast **
