Chinese Basketball League Delay could affect sports in the United States.

#StayHealthy and practice social distancing.

While there are a lot bigger issues going on right now than when sports will return, it still can be a topic of conversation. When sports returns is an indication when normalcy can return. Glimmers of hope are starting to peak through in the United States, but we’ve got a ways to go before we can say the worst is over with the coronavirus.

China went through their peak and decline in late January through mid March. It was thought that sports for them could return by April. Then the date was moved to May, and now according to CBSSports the date is now completely up in the air.

One marker that everyone was looking at, though, was when the Chinese Basketball Association would resume. However, the return date of the CBA is more unclear now after the Chinese government issued an order Tuesday that restricts all group sporting events from resuming play, per ESPN’s Brian Windhorst.

This is certainly a bit discouraging for sports here in the United States especially the NBA and MLB.

A 4 month delay puts those sports starting sometime in July, and that starts getting dangerously close to football season.

Let’s control what we can control, and let me repeat this…

I’m still optimistic will see sports here in the summer if we heed the warnings. It could be in empty stadiums for a while and that would still be fine by me.
