ACC Basketball Power Rankings with NCAA Analysis 2/6/2020

For Current RPI Rankings and Quadrant Wins http://www.warrennolan.com/basketball/2020/rpi-live

This where I see each ACC teams’ NCAA Chances. On Sundays we post Bracket Projections from several sports sites.

1. Louisville (20-3, 11-1) Projected NCAA Seed 2

If Louisville wins both of their games this week against Virginia and  at Georgia Tech, I will give them a #1 seed.

2. Duke (19-3, 9-2) Projected NCAA Seed 2

Duke has rarely looked dominant, but they keep winning.

3. Florida State (19-3, 9-2) Projected NCAA Seed 3

If Florida State can beat Duke this week, I’ll swap their seed positions.

4. Virginia (15-6, 7-4) Projected NCAA Seed 8

Virginia hasn’t locked up a NCAA bid, but they are closing in on it.

NCAA Cut Line

5. Syracuse (13-9, 6-5)

Syracuse can still get into the NCAA picture, but they need a sweep of Wake Forest and NC State this week.

6. North Carolina State (15-8, 6-6)

NC State sure could use a win at Syracuse this week.

7. Notre Dame (14-8, 5-6)

Notre Dame has won 3 games in a row, but they need at least a split at Clemson and at Virginia this week to keep momentum going.

8. Clemson (11-11, 5-7)

Clemson suddenly can’t score, and their remote shot at the NCAAs are dead.

9. Pittsburgh (14-9, 5-7)

With Georgia Tech and Clemson at home this week, Pittsburgh must win both. I mean absolutely MUST win both.

10. Georgia Tech (11-12, 5-7)

Georgia Tech had their most complete of the season in a win over Virginia Tech. Quietly they’ve won 3 of their last 4 games.

11. Virginia Tech (14-9, 5-7)

The Hokies are reeling. If they lose to BC at home this week, their NCAA hopes are over. They are currently on life support.

12. Boston College (11-12, 5-7)

Boston College has moments they don’t look awful.

13. North Carolina (10-12, 3-8)

Cole Anthony came back and UNC got worse. This team is just bad.

14. Miami (11-11, 3-9)

Should Jim Larranaga be thinking about retirement?

15. Wake Forest (10-12, 3-9)

Wake Forest led Louisville by 15 on the road. Then they remembered they are Wake Forest.
