This where I see each ACC teams’ NCAA Chances. On Sundays we post Bracket Projections from several sports sites.
1. Louisville (18-3, 9-1) Projected NCAA Seed 2
Louisville is back on top in the ACC, and eyeing a NCAA #1 seed.
2. Duke (17-3, 7-2) Projected NCAA Seed 2
Duke has a very tricky game at Syracuse Saturday. If they beat Syracuse and BC this week, Duke’s own shot at #1 NCAA seed is back in play.
3. Florida State (17-3, 7-2) Projected NCAA Seed 3
FSU slipped at UVA. They can’t slip at Virginia Tech or they risk losing pace with Louisville and Duke.
4. Virginia (14-6, 6-4) Projected NCAA Seed 9
Virginia got a monster win over FSU. Now they need to keep the momentum, and stay above .500 in the ACC.
NCAA Cut Line
5. Syracuse (13-8, 6-4)
Syracuse dropped a game at Clemson, but if they beat Duke they will right back in the NCAA picture.
6. Clemson (11-9, 5-5)
Clemson has become a NCAA caliber team when at home. Now they need to take it on the road.
7. North Carolina State (14-7, 5-5)
NC State is too talented to have fallen this far. They need a sweep this week of Louisville and Miami.
8. Virginia Tech (14-7, 5-5)
The Hokies have dropped 3 of their last 4 and out of NCAA consideration.
9. Pittsburgh (13-8, 4-6)
If Pittsburgh could get a sweep of Miami and Notre Dame, that would get them to .500 in the ACC. Then they can think about the Big Dance.
10. North Carolina (10-10, 3-6)
UNC is starting to play much better, and now Cole Anthony is about to return. The UNC are becoming a very dangerous team.
11. Notre Dame (12-8, 3-6)
If Notre Dame can win both winnable home games with Georgia Tech and Pittsburgh, they’ll earn a closer look.
12. Georgia Tech (10-11, 4-6)
Georgia Tech occasionally looks like a decent basketball team.
13. Miami (11-9, 3-7)
Miami played spoiler against Virginia Tech. Can they do it against Pitt or NC State this week?
14. Boston College (10-11, 4-6)
Another lost season at Boston College.
15. Wake Forest (9-11, 2-8)
Wake Forest has lost 6 of their last 7. In other words a typical season under Danny Manning.
