ACC Basketball Power Rankings with NCAA Analysis 1/23/2020

For Current RPI Rankings and Quadrant Wins http://www.warrennolan.com/basketball/2020/rpi-live

1. Florida State (16-2, 6-1) Projected NCAA Seed 2

The Noles haven’t lost since the first week of December.

2. Louisville (16-3, 7-1) Projected NCAA Seed 2

Louisville was impressive winning at Duke. I see two more wins in their future this week. They host Clemson and go to Boston College.

3. Duke (16-3, 6-2) Projected NCAA Seed 3

Duke to needs to tighten up their defense if they are to be as good as I think they can be.

4. North Carolina State (14-5, 5-3) Projected NCAA Seed 8

NC State has put themselves in good NCAA shape if they just play decently down the stretch.

5. Virginia Tech (14-5, 5-3) Projected NCAA Seed 9

The Hokies nearly took a resume killing loss to UNC, but they survived. They can’t do worse than a split with road games at BC and Miami.

6. Syracuse (12-7, 5-3) Projected NCAA Seed 11

I’m sneaking Syracuse into the field after winning 4 games in a row.

NCAA Cut Line

7. Virginia (12-6, 4-4)

If Hoos don’t find some offense, they’ll be headed to the NIT.

8. Clemson (10-8, 4-4)

Brad Brownell has coaxed Clemson into a tough out.

9. Pittsburgh (13-6, 4-4)

Pittsburgh needs to a steal road game at Syracuse or Duke.

10. Notre Dame (11-7, 2-5)

Notre Dame just can’t finish close games.

11. Miami (10-8, 2-6)

Miami has lost 3 games in a row, and it has sunk their season.

12. Georgia Tech (8-11, 3-6)

There’s talent on Georgia Tech’s team. The problem is Josh Pastner is still coaching them.

13. Boston College (9-10, 3-5)

Remember when BC was 3-1 in the ACC? It seems a lifetime ago.

14. Wake Forest (9-9, 2-6)

Wake Forest is currently working on trying to figure out how to pay Danny Manning’s buyout.

15. North Carolina (8-10, 1-6)

Cole Anthony can’t save UNC’s season. Without him the Heels are the ACC’s worst team.
