1. Duke (12-1, 2-0) Projected NCAA Seed 1
I really like the direction Duke is trending. Forget the loss to Stephen F Austin a few weeks ago. This is a top 5 team.
2. Louisville (11-2, 2-0) Projected NCAA Seed 2
Louisville had Kentucky on the ropes until they missed 43 free throws.
3. Florida State (12-2, 2-1) Projected NCAA Seed 4
Florida State at Louisville this Saturday is one of the best games in the ACC this year.
4. Virginia (10-2, 2-0) Projected NCAA Seed 5
Virginia could get to 4-0 in the ACC as they host Virginia Tech and go to BC this week.
5. Pittsburgh (10-3, 1-1) Projected NCAA Seed 8
Pittsburgh will remain in good NCAA shape if they can stay at or above .500 in the ACC.
6. Virginia Tech (10-3, 1-1) Projected NCAA Seed 10
If the Hokies can split road games at Virginia and Syracuse, I’ll keep them above the NCAA cut line.
NCAA Cut Line
7. North Carolina State (10-3, 1-1)
NC State can’t afford to slip up on the road at Clemson.
8. Miami (9-3, 1-1)
Miami picked up a road win at Clemson this past week, and have won 5 games in row. Tough week ahead with Duke and Louisville.
9. North Carolina (8-5, 1-1)
The win over Yale is better than you think.
10. Boston College (8-6, 2-1)
There is no shame in losing to Duke, but the Eagles already have 6 times.
11. Notre Dame (9-4, 0-2)
We’re about to find out if Notre Dame is for real. They have road games at Syracuse and NC State.
12. Syracuse (8-5, 1-1)
If Syracuse can beat Notre Dame and Virginia Tech this week, I will shoot them up the rankings.
13. Wake Forest (7-5, 0-2)
I like Wake Forest slightly better than Georgia Tech and Clemson at the moment, but the bottom of the ACC feels like a 3 team race.
14. Georgia Tech (6-7, 1-2)
This was supposed to be Josh Pastner’s best team. Time has about run out on salvaging the season.
15. Clemson (6-7, 0-3)
Clemson is starting the new year already 0-3 in the ACC.
