First Thoughts on each ACC Bowl Game.

Jan. 2 Birmingham
Birmingham, Ala.
3 p.m. (ESPN) Boston College vs. Cincinnati

Steve Addazio was fired, and BC’s defense is really suspect. This feels like a L. Cincinnati is pretty good too.

Boston College 20 Cincinnati 31

Dec. 31 Belk
Charlotte, N.C.
Noon (ESPN) Kentucky vs Virginia Tech

Give Bud Foster in his final game 3 weeks to prepare for a one-dimensional offense and I like the Hokies chances.

Virginia Tech 27 Kentucky 17

Dec. 31 Tony the Tiger Sun
El Paso, Texas
2 p.m. (CBS) Arizona State vs. Florida State

Mike Norvell is going to be looking at his new team, and I think the Noles play with pride. They have more talent than Arizona State as they do most teams. If they play like it they win.

Florida State 31 Arizona State 27

Dec. 30 Music City
Nashville, Tenn.
4 p.m. (ESPN) Louisville vs Mississippi State

This is a good matchup for Louisville. Mississippi State needed some luck against Ole Miss to even get bowl eligible.

Louisville 27 Mississippi State 23

Dec. 30 Orange
Miami Gardens, Fla.
8 p.m. (ESPN) Virginia vs Florida

Virginia can compete in this game, but Florida is too deep and too good defensively to predict a win.

Virginia 17 Florida 31

Dec. 28 Fiesta
Glendale, Ariz.
8:00 p.m. (ESPN) (3) Clemson vs (2) Ohio State

Clemson, Ohio State, and LSU are the only teams that can beat each other. I’ve thought all year Ohio State is the most complete team in college football. I think their offensive line can cause issues for Clemson’s front.

Clemson 30 Ohio State 31

Dec. 27 Pinstripe
New York
3:20 p.m. (ESPN) Michigan State vs Wake Forest

I take first half of the year Wake Forest by double digits. Since then the Deacs have had a number of injuries. It’s winnable, but I’d be mildly surprised.

Wake Forest 17 Michigan State 24

Dec. 27 Military
Annapolis, Md.
Noon (ESPN) North Carolina vs Temple

Georgia Tech’s Geoff Collins would be good to talk to about these teams, having played and lost to both. The Heels are much better at QB with Sam Howell.

North Carolina 30 Temple 23

Dec. 26 Quick Lane
Detroit
8 p.m. (ESPN) Pittsburgh vs Eastern Michigan

There isn’t any reason that Pittsburgh should be losing to a 6-6 team from the MAC. With the Panthers you never know what you’ll get, but it would be a true face plant to lose this one.

Pittsburgh 37 Eastern Michigan 13

Dec. 26 Independence
Shreveport, La.
4 p.m. (ESPN) Miami vs Louisiana Tech

This is an extremely dangerous game for Miami. Louisiana Tech will have a big home field advantage, and the Canes were flat out awful to end the season. If Miami is interested it’s a cakewalk, if there are not which I suspect, they will have issues. Manny Diaz better not lose.

Miami 24 Louisiana Tech 20
