Who is in the ACC’s chase for the Orange Bowl? 11/13/2018 Edition

The Orange Bowl will select the highest ranked non-playoff ACC Team.

Clemson (10-0, 7-0)

We’ve said it for weeks now. Clemson has to lose a game to end up in the Orange Bowl. Lose a game? I’m not sure anyone stays within 3 TDs of the Tigers until maybe the playoffs.

Wake Forest (7-2, 3-2)

Wake Forest’s Orange Bowl hopes took a major hit with a flat effort against Virginia Tech Saturday. Now they face a Clemson team that’s prepping for the post-season. This Deacs will still be factor if they can finish 9-3 (5-3), but they are no longer the front-runner. The will need help… With the injury to Sage Surratt too, I don’t like their chances.

Virginia (7-3, 5-2)

Virginia has been decimated by injury in their secondary, but they can still reach the Orange Bowl if they win out. Next is Liberty in 2 weeks, and then at home for Virginia Tech. Basically the Hoos have 3 weeks to prepare for an Orange Bowl berth and division title.

Virginia Tech (6-3, 3-2)

In two weeks, Virginia Tech host Pittsburgh in an Orange Bowl elimination game. Should they win that one, the Commonwealth Cup could be for the highest stakes in years – A division title and entry to the Orange Bowl.

Pittsburgh (6-3, 3-2)

Pittsburgh is lurking right there with their shot at the Orange Bowl. They need the Hokies to beat the Hoos, and also they need to win out. So the Panthers need help, but their is a scenario they can reach the Orange Bowl. I think Pittsburgh at 9-3 gets in over 9-3 Wake Forest – if they beat Virginia Tech and Virginia Tech beats Virginia.
