Good evening, Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) sports fans.
Hope you had a great weekend.
Earlier this year, I made the case the University of Louisville should hire Scott Satterfield for head football coach (I really thought Satterfield was the best hire in the nation). I made the case the the University of Louisville made all the right moves in hires across the board – and that they have.
However, even though I thought Louisville made the right hire for football coach – I thought it would take time to get to a bowl game. So did @TalkinACCSports – you can check his thoughts out here. After all, even most Louisville fans thought that Bobby Petrino did long-term damage to the Cardinals’ football program (because he did).
At the beginning of the season, the over under on the number of Louisville football wins was -4.5. I made a charity bet with @SouthEndHero – and you can see that bet here. The short of it was that if Louisville won 4 football games or less, @SouthEndHero would donate $50 to the Virginia Tech Athletic Foundation. If Louisville won five or more games, I would donate $50 to the University of Louisville Athletic Foundation.
After Louisville’s win over Virginia yesterday, the Cardinals reached that five win threshold.
I donated $50 to the University of Louisville women’s lacrosse program.
So, I’m batting 50% in my charity bets this year. 😉
