Good afternoon, Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) football fans.
Just a quick post – I’m dropping a thread that was pretty popular on Twitter:
2/ Justin Fuente has gone a long way from that – he has to reach out to former players – not just to the stars – and bring them back into the program. #Hokies football was once family – people who cared about the past – and wanted the past and present to integrate. #Restart

3/ I’ve seen @vick757 talk about this at length as well as @ProsimPrincipal and @DonV757_ – but I’ve seen much more talk about this as of late. Making past, present, and future players feel part of a football family puts everyone into a tighter sort of personal dynamic. #Hokies

Part of me wonders, too, how much the current Virginia Tech athletic administration or football staff has looked at past traditions, as well (There is word out there on Twitter that Justin Fuente did not catch with members of the 1999 Virginia Tech Hokies football team (the team that made it to the national title game). The student band doesn’t play nearly as often anymore during the games, there is too much techno-music playing throughout the stadium, there is less access to the program etc. Lane Stadium is not the same place it was. You don’t see people doing the Hokey Pokey. Game Day within the stadium confines does not seem like the same place.
