This weekend in ACC Baseball will have a big impact on the NCAA Tournament.

As the ACC Baseball heads into it’s final regular season weekend, there is plenty on the line for the majority of the teams in the conference. Let’s look at the ones that have a realistic shot at the NCAA Tournament.

Rankings come from WarrenNolan.com

#7 Louisville 41-12 (19-8)  – The Cardinal’s can probably lock up a national top 8 seed with a series win over Florida State. If they lose the series, they may need a win or two in the ACC Tournament to assure themselves a national seed.

#8 Georgia Tech 36-15 (17-10) – Georgia Tech has some great non-conference wins including a series win over Georgia. If they take the series with pesky Pitt, they should get a national seed. The ACC Tournament results likely won’t matter. Pitt just took a series from UNC, so Georgia Tech beware.

#15 Miami 36-16 (16-11) – Miami with a sweep of Duke can make a run at national seed. They’ll still need to make it to the ACCT Championship mostly likely.  Lose the series, and it will put a dent in their regional hosting chances, and kill their national seed hopes.

#19 North Carolina 37-15 (16-11) – UNC losing a series last week to Pitt probably ended their national seed chance unless they basically win out. Take a series from NC State, and they’ll still have a good chance to be a regional host.

#24 NC State 39-14 (16-11) – NC State needs to the win their series with UNC to have a chance at hosting a regional. No chance at a top 8 seed.

#38 Clemson 31-22 (13-14) – Clemson has no chance at hosting. If they get swept by Wake Forest, their chances of getting into the NCAA’s will be in serious jeopardy. If they win the series, they should feel pretty good.

#43 Virginia 30-21 (12-15) – Virginia has played their way back into the NCAA discussion. Don’t lose the series to Virginia Tech, or they will be back out going into the ACC Tournament.

#48 Duke 29-22 (14-13) – Oh if Duke could take the series from Miami, it would really help their NCAA chances. Lose the series and they’ll need a big ACCT.

#57 Wake Forest 29-23 (13-14) – Wake Forest simply can’t to lose their series with Clemson. I currently don’t have them in.

#59 Florida State 34-18 ( 16-11) – Florida State has a solid ACC record. Despite a mediocre RPI, they are probably fine provided they don’t get swept by Louisville.
