ACC QUESTION of the WEEK : Who do you want to see on ACC Network?

I can’t say I have thought about this question a lot. If you asked me how I would program a conference-specific sports network, I would have my own set of ideas. The on-air talent is a very small part of that larger equation.

I live in the Western United States, so I have not developed conversational or regional intimacy with the people ACC fans like the most. I didn’t grow up listening to ACC legends. I grew up listening to the voices of the Pac-10 (now Pac-12).

From this outsider’s perspective, which shouldn’t be given too much weight, I will try my best to identify voices which might resonate in ACC markets, but I hasten to say that ACC fans would be able to answer this question much more convincingly than I ever could.

So, from my distant perch in Seattle, here is my SENSE of which people ACC fans would probably want to see on the ACC Network:

Wes Durham — He comes from ACC broadcasting royalty but has a common touch and is, from what I can perceive, widely respected. He would seem to be a natural for ACC Network broadcasts, and thankfully he was one of the first personalities brought on.

Patrick Stevens — The Washington Post sportswriter and bracketologist could cover football, basketball and lacrosse throughout an ACC season and would offer first-rate insight, analysis, and statistical/historical perspective. Home run.

Andrea Adelson — Who has anything bad to say about Andrea Adelson? Unlike Heather Dinich, she doesn’t dump on the ACC and displays supreme professionalism.
