Is Charter Cable closing in on carriage deal with the ACC Network?

First before reading this, let me know out some disclaimers. I don’t have any official information on this, and I don’t have any press releases that I usually like to quote when I talk about the ACC Network. This is strictly my personal experience from Saturday.

I live South Carolina, and I’m a Charter Cable Subscriber.  Each year I call Charter and negotiate a rate that I’m satisfied for the next year of service. It works for me, and has kept me a customer. With that said, in my discussion with the Charter representatives working on my service, I asked “Are you getting the ACC Network, because it’s on Direct TV. I want that channel”. I spoke to two different reps.

First Rep said – “Yes we are getting that channel. I don’t know when that announcement will be made. Possibly closer to the launch date”.

Second Rep said – “I can’t say if we are getting the channel, but if a carrier like Direct TV has it I expect we will carry it too. The major carriers like to have access to similar channel lineups.”

Take it for what it’s worth. I hope those reps are correct.  I obviously will watch the ACC Network, but I won’t stay with a provider that doesn’t have it.

I did find what they said very encouraging, though.

If you are wondering if your service provider is carrying the ACC Network yet, you can find out here.  Scroll down to number 21.
