One Last Look – ACC Seeding Projections for the NCAA Tournament.

Here’s one last look where we think the ACC Teams will land in the NCAA Tournament.

We pull the RPI numbers from CBS Sportsline.

NCAA Net Rankings

Virginia (29-3) (16-2) Projected NCAA Seed – 1

RPI – 3

NET RANKING – 1

Notes – Virginia will be a 1 seed, but did Duke take the number 1 overall seed?

Duke (29-5) (14-4) Projected NCAA Seed  – 1

RPI – 1

NET RANKING – 3

Notes – Duke goes from a 2 seed to a 1 seed with the ACC Tournament Title.

North Carolina (27-6) (16-2) – Projected NCAA Seed – 1

RPI – 4

NET RANKING – 7

Notes – Should a 1 point loss to Duke, drop UNC from a 1 seed to a 2? The Heels have 3 wins over likely 1 seeds – two over Duke and one over Gonzaga. They could also take Gonzaga’s 1 seed out West.

Florida State (27-7) (13-5) – Projected NCAA Seed – 3

RPI – 11

NET RANKING – 15

Notes – FSU could land at the 4 line, but that win over Virginia was really impressive.

Virginia Tech (24-8) (12-6) Projected NCAA Seed – 5

RPI – 27

NET RANKING – 11

Notes – Is Justin Robinson ready to go? The Hokies protected a good seeding while waiting for him to return.

Louisville (20-13) (10-8) – ACC Tournament Seed – 8

RPI – 32

NET RANKING – 21

Notes – Louisville would be a very difficult matchup for any of the #1 seeds. They’ve proved they can play with them. It’s closing the games out that’s been the problem.

Syracuse (20-13) (10-8) Projected NCAA Seed – 10

RPI – 39

NET RANKING – 43

Notes – It would be so much better for Syracuse to be a 7 or 10 seed and avoid that 8/9 game.

NC State (22-11) (9-9) Projected NCAA Seed – Last Four In

RPI – 96

NET RANKING – 34

Notes – If we’re still using the RPI, NC State would be out. We’re not though and they are going to squeeze in.

Clemson (19-13) (9-9) Projected NCAA Seed – NIT 1 seed

RPI – 61

NET RANKING – 35

Notes – Too many bid steals, and 0-2 against fellow bubble team NC State. Clemson has to pray the NET rankings are heavily used by the committee.
