This is going to be a weekly article, where I seed the ACC teams and where I think they’d should be placed if the tournament started the same day as my posting.
In my ranking system, any RPI top (100) win is a good win and any RPI top (50) obviously worth more. Any losses outside the RPI top (100) is considered a bad loss, and outside the RPI (150) are even more damaging. I’m not counting future results only if I think a team would make the NCAA’s if selections were made the day of the post.
Teams get a “*” for top 50 good wins or “*” greater than 150 losses.
My RPI rankings come from, CBSSportsline.com and I will also list the NCAA.net Rankings which is the new ranking system used by the committee.

Notes – Virginia survived their 2 top 10 games with Virginia Tech and Duke with 22 point win over the Hokies and 2 point loss to Duke. That keeps them on the 1 line. They can’t afford any slip ups against Wake Forest or Notre Dame this week.

Notes – Duke followed up a surprising loss at home to Syracuse with a very strong win over Virginia. Duke is very good without Tre Jones, but they need him healthy to win a national title. Pittsburgh could be tricky this week, but Georgia Tech at home will be an organized scrimmage.

Notes – Virginia Tech got a wake up call with a 81-59 loss to Virginia. This did come back with an easy win over Wake Forest. This week is a tough set of games with UNC and Syracuse. The winner of the UNC/Virginia Tech stays a protected top 4 seed.

Notes – It was a stunning comeback of a week for Syracuse. After the ugly loss to Georgia Tech the week before, Syracuse wins at Duke then defeats Pittsburgh. Even with a shorthanded Duke team, that’s impressive. That’s vaults them into the field. That game at Virginia Tech is a huge one.

Notes – Last week FSU was a 4 seed. This week they are barely in as an 11. You simply can’t lose at Pittsburgh and Boston College to fall to 1-4 in the ACC. I’m not sure they remain in the field with just a split of Clemson and Miami.
