ACC Network week 1 Football Schedule coming into focus per @DavidTeelatDP

Programming and scheduling news for the ACC Network coming in 2019 continues to leak in.

We already knew that Clemson vs Georgia Tech would the first ACC Network football game August 29. We also know that Notre Dame at Duke will be on the ACC Network on November 9.   That confirms that Notre Dame ACC road games could end up on the ACC Network.

The esteemed journalist @DavidTeelatDP reports that Week 1 in the ACC will include Virginia and Virginia Tech.  That article is worth reading in its entirety.

With Virginia and Virginia Tech central players, the ACC appears set to schedule three league games to kick off the 2019 football season, enhancing its new cable channel and complementing several marquee non-conference matchups.

The Cavaliers likely will open at Pittsburgh, the Hokies at Boston College.

Moreover, Week 1 would include no games against Championship Subdivision opponents, affirming ACC commissioner John Swofford’s determination to make the opening weekend more attractive to spectators and television viewers.

In addition…

League officials are also using their marquee sport to give the ACC Network early gravitas. In November, for the first time in its history, the ACC will start the men’s basketball season with a full slate of seven conference games.

Good stuff from Mr. Teel, and we will keep an eye for anymore ACC Network scheduling notes.
