Disney-ESPN and Verizon reach distribution deal, and it includes the ACC Network.

If you are a follow of the blog, you know we’ve tacked the progression of the ACC Network from the beginning. You also know ACC Network news comes in waves.

Last week we told you that Verizon and Disney were having some hard discussions concerning their distribution agreements.  As we told you then, and now correctly predicted, this was standard procedure and our expectation was that an agreement would be reached that included the ACC Network.

This deal has apparently come together quicker than we  had anticipated, and it’s great news for the ACC Network.

Disney was able to win price increases for its programming and the pickup of a new channel, the ACC Network, according to a person familiar with the talks who asked not to be identified.

 

That’s already around 4.6 Million subscribers for the ACC Network.

This is as good a start in distribution as the ACC could have hoped for 9 months before the channel launches. Let’s hope the solid continues throughout 2019. As more details are released, we will post them here.
