Good evening, Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) sports fans.
Since I’m out of the office today with bronchitis (I’m about 70% healthy – which is better than 0%), I figured I’d drop a version of Around the ACC Blogosphere. Always good for us to check out what our ACC bloggers are thinking. Without further ado, here we go:
- Ricky LaBlue, former @TechSideline employee, and @CTSports editor and columnist, drops his thoughts in a reader mailbag, which depicts some reasons for optimism and concern for Virginia Tech football in 2019. He’s right that the Hokies are absolutely stacked at wide receiver – and there are big holes to fill at defensive tackle.
- From the Rumble Seat, SB Nation’s Georgia Tech athletics blog, keeps you updated on the Jackets football coaching search. And let’s be clear, most Jackets fans I know are none too happy with the prospect of hiring a legacy coach in Ken Wisenhunt. Also, the many Jackets fans aren’t happy at all (and with good reason) to be slated for the Quick Lane Bowl in Detroit. (h/t https://gtswarm.com) I probably can add on that Jackets fans aren’t happy with their men’s basketball program, as well. Well, damn – there’s a bunch of unhappy Georgia Tech alumni – things will get better, right?
- Card Chronicle, SB Nation’s University of Louisville athletics blog, reports that the university is set to announce Scott Satterfield as its next football coach. Outstanding hire (and yes, we thought it was the best idea).
- Both @DonV757_ and @HunkerDownHokie have terrific Virginia Tech Hokies podcasts (both podcasts are not affiliated with the university). You can check out the @DonV757_ podcast here and the @HunkerDownHokie podcast here.
- Troy Nunes is an Absolute Magician, SB Nation’s Syracuse University athletics blog, says that the Syracuse/West Virginia Camping World bowl game will be one of the nation’s most entertaining this year. We agree – take the over.
- Clemson Insider reports that Brad Brownell wasn’t happy about the lack of crowd energy in LittleJohn for the Tigers men’s basketball game vs. Nebraska. Listen here, Brad – your Tigers time hasn’t actually been too awesome during your tenure.
- This is a VERY good post here from the folks over at SB Nation’s Wake Forest athletics blog, Blogger So Dear. The short of it is that there isn’t a lot to separate former Demon Deacons men’s basketball head coach, Jeff Bzdelik, and current coach, Danny Manning.
And that’s it for another week of Around the ACC Blogosphere.
