A couple of things stick out to me. Clemson has 6 of the 9 All-ACC linemen on offense and defense – with 4 on the defensive line. It can’t be said enough, Clemson’s defensive line has a chance to be one of the best in the history of college football. Yes it is that potentially that good. We’ve told you on the blog Boston College has improved talent. They have the 2nd most pre-season All-ACC players at 4.
In a league that produces as much NFL talent as the ACC, that’s a nice pre-season feather in the cap for Steve Addazio’s team.
From CBSSportsline.com, here are the predicted order of finish of the teams.
Atlantic Division
1. Clemson (145)
2. Florida State (1)
3. NC State (2)
4. Boston College
5. Louisville
6. Wake Forest
7. Syracuse
Coastal Division
1. Miami (122)
2. Virginia Tech (16)
3. Georgia Tech (8)
4. Duke (1)
5. Pitt
6. North Carolina (1)
7. Virginia
ACC Championship votes
1. Clemson – 139
2. Miami – 5
3. NC State – 2
T4. Florida State – 1
T4. Virginia Tech – 1
Clemson as the overwhelming Atlantic Division and ACC favorite is not surprise, but I am surprised Miami was such a heavy favorite in the Coastal. I thought Miami would be the pick to win the Coastal, but in a closer margin over Virginia Tech.
Georgia Tech coming off a 5-6 season was a bit of a surprise to finish 3rd in the Coastal as well.
