Recently we reviewed the ACC’s best 25 OOC wins of the decade so far.  Some really good wins got left off the list, so I decided for a little off-season reading to give you the best five OOC wins for each ACC team so far this decade

Virginia Tech | Georgia Tech | Duke | UNC | Virginia | Miami | Pittsburgh | Louisville | Clemson | Wake Forest | Florida State | Syracuse | NC State

1. Boston College 37 #9 USC 31 – September 13, 2014 (#18 on ACC Top 25 OOC Win List of Decade)

People have forgotten what an impressive win this was for Boston College. The Pac 12 was considered the best or second best conference in college football in 2014, and this USC team finished 9-4 and in the top 25. They entered this game in the top 10, and Boston College ran for a whopping 452 yards in the 37-31 win. Boston College QB Tyler Murphy was unstoppable in this one.

2. Boston College 36 Maryland 30 – December 26, 2016

Boston College’s 36 – 30 victory over Maryland was their first bowl since 2007. The win contributed to the ACC’s 9-3 bowl record in 2016. Many thought this would be a defensive slug fest, but the game turned into an entertaining back and forth shootout.

3. Boston College 16 Syracuse 7 – November 27, 2010

Back in 2010 Syracuse was an OOC game for BC, and they were pretty good that season. Syracuse finished the season 8-5 and had wins over West Virginia and Kansas State, but they couldn’t handle Boston College at home. Future Heisman finalist Andre Williams had 185 yards on the ground.

4. Boston College 23 Northern Illinois 20 – September 1, 2017

Boston College went on the road in 2017 to face a very dangerous Northern Illinois team. More than one person predicted a potential upset in this one. Northern Illinois went on to an 8-5 season, and that included a win at Nebraska. As a freshman QB Anthony Brown won his first career start.

5. Boston College 28 Central Michigan 8 – September 30, 2017

Boston College’s 28 – 8 win over over Central Michigan was against one the MAC’s better teams. Central Michigan went 8-5 in 2017. AJ Dillon has 120 yards rushing and Jon Hilliman scored 3 TDs in the win.
