With One Week Left in the Conference Regular Season, A Couple Lines About Each #ACC Team

Greetings Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) sports fans.  Hope your weekend is going well.

Well, here we are – one week left in the regular conference season, here are a couple of lines about each ACC men’s basketball team:

  • Boston College – The end of season record isn’t going to reflect the entire story here about the Eagles.  Jim Christian has this team competing at a higher level – and there is hope for the future.

  • Clemson – The difference in the Tigers team is clearly noticeable with point guard Shelton Mitchell on the court.  Did you have Clemson in contention for a double bye in the ACC tournament when the season began?  Maybe Brad Brownell’s wife did – but that’s probably it.

  • Duke – The switch really turned on for the Blue Devils after Grayson Allen was moved to point guard.  You know the Blue Devils are an elite offensive team, but this group might just have enough defense to make itself a national title contender.

  • Florida State – You idiots that say Leonard Hamilton needs to be fired are 100% mouthbreathers.  Who else can win at Florida State besides Hamilton?

  • Georgia Tech – What can go wrong has gone wrong this year for the Yellow Jackets.  Player injuries and the distractions pertaining to Josh Pastner’s personal issues (to a degree) have derailed Georgia Tech’s season

  • Louisville – The Cardinals just might have saved their season with road win today at Virginia Tech.  As my buddy @TalkinACCSports said, the Cardinals NCAA life depended on winning in Blacksburg.

  • Miami – The Hurricanes are still in contention for an NCAA bid even with Bruce Bowen out of the lineup.  Tells you volumes about head coach, Jim Larranaga.

  • North Carolina – As of today, the Tar Heels haven’t lost in February.  I’m sure they don’t want the month to end.

  • North Carolina State – Don’t look now, but the Wolfpack (with most of their remaining games at home) are probably the favorite to get the last double bye (after Virginia, Duke, and North Carolina) in the ACC tournament in Kevin Keatts’ first season.  Tobacco Road back?

  • Notre Dame – If Matt Farrell and Bonzie Colson play in the ACC tournament, I’m thinking there aren’t many teams that want to face the Irish.  Irish seem like they could upset some teams in Brooklyn.

  • Syracuse – The Orange offense is just ridiculously, dumpster fire bad.  What else can I say here?

  • Pittsburgh – Will Kevin Stallings receive his entire buyout or will it be negotiated to a lower amount?

  • Virginia – The defense is absolutely elite.  Can Virginia find that go-to player who can create his own shot?  The Hoos will need that in the NCAA tournament.

  • Virginia Tech – Crazy for me to see the Hokies with a worse ACC record at home than on the road – but here we are.  I think the Hokies need to win one more conference game – or two games in the ACC tournament (which is not in Blacksburg lol) to feel good about getting into the NCAA tournament.

  • Wake Forest  – Our buddy, @Peacone36, dropped this tweet – I like Danny Manning – but this is where the Demon Deacons are sitting right now:
