Good evening, Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) sports fans. Hope you are ready for the weekend.
Lots of great ACC men’s basketball ahead.
Just a quick post here this evening – something that caught my eye: At #7 in the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup rankings (after the final fall update), North Carolina State is leading all ACC schools.
This is something that was very unexpected for me to see. The Pack are currently ahead of Duke (#11), Virginia (at #12), North Carolina (at #14), Wake Forest (at #17), Notre Dame (at #20), Louisville (at #21), Virginia Tech (at #26), and Clemson (at #28).
So, the Pack are leading all of its North Carolina-based ACC brethren. That’s pretty cool. Has this happened before after a fall update? I’d be interested to hear from some of our NC State readers. Obviously a long way to go – and I expect that Duke, Virginia, and North Carolina will all do well in the Directors’ Cup race as the winter and spring sports seasons go on – but this is a good story about NC State.
Have a great weekend.
