Virginia Tech’s goal-line stand against Pittsburgh was one of college football’s best this season.

I didn’t watch all of this game, but I tuned in to see one of the great goal-line stands this season in college football. If there was a better one this year, I haven’t seen it.

4-6 Pittburgh was looking to get a win that could have save it’s season. With 30 seconds left, they were at the 1 yard line of Virginia Tech. Virginia Tech was about to suffer an extremely disappointing loss. 4 shots from the 1 yard line is what the Panthers would have.

Bud Foster’s defense stiffened – from the ESPN Drive Chart.

(0:03 – 4th) Darrin Hall run for a loss of 3 yards to the VTech 4

When Virginia Tech looks back on the season especially if they go on to a top 25  – 10 win finish, they’ll look at this as one of great moments in 2017. It wasn’t a pretty win, but that goal-line stand was unforgettable.
