A Massive Win for Virginia Tech over Notre Dame

Good evening, Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) sports fans. What a win for Virginia Tech football over Notre Dame. It was one of these games where you were thinking to yourself, “Are the Hokies still having a hangover from the Georgia Tech game last week?” Not the start Virginia Tech needed. Looks like they still have …

Time to put Pittsburgh in the top 25 after thrashing of Duke.

Here’s a question… find me 24 teams playing playing better than the Pittsburgh Panthers right now. I don’t think you can. Pittsburgh fresh off their signature upset at Clemson, backed that win up with a 56-14 thrashing of a Duke team that won at Notre Dame, and just beat North Carolina. Now I’m not saying …

Hotter seat NC State’s Dave Doeren or Boston College’s Steve Addiazo?

As we close in on the 2016 football season, one thing is becoming very clear NC State’s Dave Doeren and Boston College’s Steve Addiazo are the ACC coaches with the hottest seats. Everyone else is going to a bowl game, new, or has recent established success. Both coaches currently sit 5-6, but only have 3 …

Georgia Tech continues mid-season surge with win over Virginia.

Take out an ugly 2nd half at UNC, and Georgia Tech has quietly put together a solid 2nd half of the season. Coming off a 37-34 loss at Pitt where Georgia Tech was a tipped pass away from winning, the Yellow Jackets could have been in real trouble – and for that matter Paul Johnson …

Louisville throws away playoff chances with embarrassing performance at Houston.

Maybe Louisville was never really  a playoff team, maybe they were before getting thrashed 36-10 by Houston tonight. What we do know is Louisville sat 5th in the playoff rankings going into Thursday’s with the Houston Cougars. From that position with 3 weekends of football left, Louisville could make the playoffs. They needed help, but …

Georgetown’s Loss to Arkansas State is Not Acceptable

Good evening, Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) fans. I don’t blog about Georgetown basketball very often (I am an alumnus there), but it’s time to explore what’s going on there in Hoya land after the last couple of games. Earlier this week, Georgetown had epic collapse in the opening round of the Gavitt Games (a Big …

ACC Football Power Rankings After Week 11

Every site loves to do power rankings. It’s a chance to compare, rank, and analyze teams. It just doesn’t affect the actual outcome (unless you’re the College Football Playoff Committee). Still, they’re a good way to understand each team’s chances in the long run. The ACC champion will likely make the CFP, and last week’s upset fiesta shook everything up. …
