Clemson finally plays a complete game, and it was a dominant effort against Syracuse.

We’ve been wondering all year what the Clemson Tigers would look like if they played a mostly mistake free game. Even in their wins against good teams like Louisville, Auburn, etc, you could still poke holes in the Tiger’s performance.

Syracuse was unfortunately the recipient of arguably Clemson’s most complete game. It resulted in a dominanting 54-0 win for the Tigers. Syracuse isn’t a great team by any stretch, but offensively they have some weapons, and they did beat Virginia Tech earlier this year. They are better than either NC State or Troy. Two teams that nearly knocked of Clemson in Death Valley.

The Tigers rolled up 565 yards on offense, and held the Orange to 0 points and just 289 yards.

Clemson had been prone to turning the ball over and they did not have any turnovers today. As Clemson enters the homestretch of their schedule, with their toughest games behind them at least until the ACCCG, this is an encouraging sign.

Clemson looked like a playoff caliber team today. The defense was suffocating, and Deshaun Watson was as sharp as he’s been all year at QB going completing 13 out of 16 passes. Watson did suffer a bruised shoulder, but it doesn’t look serious.

We’ll see if the Tigers can back up this performance with a struggling Pittsburgh team next week, but Clemson finally looked like the team we expected all year. That’s a scary proposition for the rest of the Tigers’s schedule.
