Good evening, Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) sports fans. Hope you are enjoying this college football Saturday.
We’re really close to season’s midpoint – and we have blogged much about the Miami Hurricanes football team, but they have quietly started out 4-0 in – and are now a top 15 program.
Miami defeat Appalachian State earlier this year on the road in what many saw was a trap game (it was the most highly attended game in the history of Appalachian State’s football program) – and the Hurricanes beat them down 45-10. This was a game that I’m thinking Al Golden might have had a tough time with, but Mark Richt has this team moving on steady waters (he’s driving the ship pretty well).
Miami had a first this year, too, for FBS football:

Miami’s D was balling today:
Miami’s first time with two defensive touchdowns in a game since Nov. 23, 2013 vs. Virginia.

Miami’s D is coming to play this year (this is different from years past):
The Hurricanes rushing defense is in the top four in the country, they win first down on D with the 2nd best 1st down defense in the country, their third down defensive is top six in the country, and they are number 2 overall in the country in total defense.
And Miami’s offense is much better coached under Mark Richt:
Richt is finding ways to get his playmaker running backs involved. The Hurricanes have a top 10 rushing offense – and a top 20 overall offense.
Florida State is going to face a much different Miami than they have in the past when they play next weekend – I really look forward to that matchup.
