Good morning, Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) sports fans. I know you all miss college football like everyone here at All Sports Discussion. Until then, make sure you check out our site for the best in ACC sports coverage (and follow our Twitter account at @AllSportsDACC).
This morning, I’m stealing a page out of my colleague, Jeffrey Fann (@TalkinACCSports), and his book. Without further ado, here’s my edition of the Around the ACC Blogosphere:
-
Check out the latest edition of the Cardinal Sports Zone radio show at Louisville’s ESPN Radio 93.9 FM “The Ville”. Our friends, @JustinRenck, @StevenRummage, and @Jeremy_CSZ as the talk about Louisville football recruiting, their favorite Petrino Louisville opening day football game, and more right here.
-
The Tech Lunch Pail informs us that Virginia Tech starting safety, C.J. Reavis, is no longer enrolled at Virginia Tech (as a result of a student conduct issue). Reavis is appealing the decision. It will be interesting to watch what happens here. That said, we also need to give you some good news here. We reported here that it is amazing that Virginia Tech’s entire defensive line is on the Bronko Narguski Trohy Watch List.
-
It’s nice for the ACC not to worry about expansion. However, Hokie Mark over at ACC Football Prescription tells us that the Big 12 Conference is in kind of a bind – and assesses some candidates they they might consider for potential expansion.
-
SBN’s Wake Forest sports blog, Blogger So Dear, previews one of the Demon Deacons football non-conference opponents, Indiana University. This would be a nice win for Dave Clawson – and should give the faithful some hope in Winston-Salem.
-
Building on that bullet point above, SBN’s Miami sports blog, State of the U, previews the Hurricanes’ game with Nebraska (that’s a huge non-conference game for the ACC).
-
SBN’s Pittsburgh sports blog blog, Cardiac Hill (via @AnsonWhaley), talks about the possibility of reinstating the Backyard Brawl (the rivalry game with West Virginia). Yes, I think this needs to come back – football needs to preserve rivalries.
-
SBN’s Boston College sports blog, BCI (via @DanRubin12), discusses the changes to the football landscape this year. Specifically, Dan Rubin addresses realignment (including the impact on scheduling) and rules changes.
-
Fansided’s Clemson sports blog, Rubbing the Rock, analyzes the Tiger’s defensive ends.
-
SBN’s NC State blog, Backing the Back (via @umwolfpack87), provides an update on the Wolfpack’s s 2016 recruiting efforts.
-
SBN’s Georgia Tech sports blog, From the Rumble Seat, tells Jackets fans that this could be Paul Johnson’s best defense. If that’s the case, they might have a close lean over Virginia Tech to win the Coastal Division (and that game in November in Atlanta is huge).
-
SBN’s Syracuse sports blog, Nunes Magician, tells us there are only two Orange basketball coaches on the road who are recruiting, which is a result of the NCAA sanctions).
-
SBN’s North Carolina sport slog, Tar Heel Blog, provides some 2015 men’s basketball roster updates right here.
-
Fansided’s Duke blog, Ball Durham, previews Duke football’s 2015 defensive backs right here.
-
SBN’s Virginia Cavalieres sports blog, Streaking The Lawn, provides twelve things that are better than Maryland 😉
-
Fansided Notre Dame sports blog, Slap The Sign, informs us that Notre Dame has scheduled a 2016 football game with Navy in Jacksonville, FL (that’s awesome as Jacksonville is a huge Navy community).
That’s it for this week – join us again next week for another edition of the Around the ACC Blogosphere.
