The NCAA Baseball tournament is down to the Super Regionals. Louisville, Florida State, Miami, and Virginia have advanced for the ACC. NC State should have been there as well, if not for one of the most brutal collapses I’ve ever seen. 4 outs away from winning with an 8-1 lead over TCU. The Wolfpack lost in what can only be described as as blowing a 4 TD, 4th quarter lead. Oh there was only 5 minutes left in the game.
The ACC still got a record 4 teams to the Super Regionals, proving that the ACC right behind the SEC in College Baseball. Miami hosts VCU. VCU is a 4 seed, and Miami, at home, will never have a better opportunity to reach the CWS. Virginia gets to host Maryland. For a 3 seed, that was a true bonus for the Cavaliers. I think they advance as well.
Louisville hosts Cal State Fullerton, a traditional baseball power. The Cardinals are one of the 5 best teams in the tournament. It won’t be easy, but I think the Cardinals pass this test. Florida State has to head Florida. The Seminoles are an excellent team, but the Gators are a top 5 group. I don’t see the Seminoles winning the series in Gainesville.
The ACCDN has a preview of the Super Regionals that is well worth watching.
