How does the ACC build off a couple of good football seasons? How about starting the third year’s of the ACC’s football restoration project with an impressive showing in Sports Illustrated Pre-Season All-American teams? You have to give plenty of credit to Florida State for leading not just the ACC but the nation with 5 first team members, and 6 players overall on the 1st and 2nd team.
The ACC finished 2nd only to the SEC in total number of member 8 to 9.
Lou Ciaccia from twitter broke it down even further…
By my count, 30 of 52 (58%) SI Preseason All-Americans are from the SEC or ACC. Wow.

Per conference on the SI Preseason AA two deep: SEC – 16 (1.14 per team) ACC – 14 (1.0) PAC – 10 (.83) Big – 8 (.57) B12 – 3 (.3)

Even if you pull FSU’s six players off SI’s preseason team, the ACC still has 8, as many as entire B1G, and way more than B12’s 3.

I think that pretty well spells it out. This isn’t same the ACC from 5 years ago. While we’re at the ACC may end up with 3 of the 5 pre-season All-Americans in basketball too.
