Three ACC Teams Advance to NCAA Men’s Golf Championship – FSU, Virginia Tech, and Georgia Tech

Florida State, Georgia Tech, and Virginia Tech earn berths in 30-team field

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Florida State, Georgia Tech, and Virginia Tech advanced to the NCAA Men’s Golf Championship following the final round of regional play on Saturday.

The Yellow Jackets and Seminoles advanced out of the Raleigh Regional. Georgia Tech, which won by 17 strokes, placed four golfers in the top 10 for the fifth regional victory in program history. Florida State finished fifth, shooting 8-over to advance to NCAA Championship for the fourth time in the last five years.

The Hokies shot 18-over to finish fourth in the Auburn Regional, and will make their second trip to the NCAA Championship in the last three years.

The three ACC teams will travel to the NCAA Men’s Golf Championship, which will be held May 23-28 at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Florida State and Georgia Tech reached the NCAA Championship last year, with the Yellow Jackets finishing second in stroke play before reaching the semifinals of match play. The Seminoles tied for 11th in stroke play.
