Winston made a mistake, but he needs to stop making them!

By all means we all make mistakes, no one is perfect. And if I was to remember back when I was in college, making mistakes almost sounded like a class I took, and passed quite well. Having said all of that, most people are not a year away from making more money than they will …

The SEC stays with 8 game conference schedule. It’s clear why and I’d do it too.

It’s not often I defend the SEC, and when I do you can be sure it’s because I really agree with it. They’ve taken some criticism for sticking with an 8 game conference. Jeff Schultz of the Atlanta Journal Constitution went so far as to call the SEC cowards.   Why I ask? Why should the …

Ranking the ACC Basketball Coaches for 2014

When I started looking through the ACC Basketball coaches, it just boggles the how much coaching talent will be in the ACC over the next few years. Certain Hall of Famer coaches will not be ranked in the top 3. I’ve never seen a greater collection of coaches in one conference. When you look at …

Maryland tries to prove their departure didn’t damage the ACC.

Thursday was an interesting day for those that are following the Maryland vs ACC case. It’s pretty simple the ACC thinks Maryland owes them a $53 Million exit fee for leaving the conference in 2012. The Terrapins are fighting it. The Washington Post reported today a legal filing by Maryland that details an ACC- Conducted Market …

Alabama’s lucrative Learfield Media Rights Deal confirms what we thought about 3rd Tier Rights.

Why am I bringing up something that’s two years old, and largely irrelevant to the current landscape of college athletics. The reason is because 2 years ago 3rd Tier TV rights discussions were all the rage. The ACC sold theirs away, and according to the mis-informed rumors of the day it would destroy the ACC. …

It’s the college football off-season so that’s the time for opinions galore on teams, players and of course coaches. We’ll be doing that during the course spring and summer starting with the coaches. Here is an interesting piece from CBSSportsline’s Dennis Dodd titled “Expect ACC to play an influential role as playoff era begins” that was written a couple of days ago. Dodds looks at where the ACC was 2 years ago and then at the conference’s promising future. It is fascinating to remember realignment-palooza of 2012. There were …

Is an ACC Network announcement on hold or is it actually on schedule?

We heard about first rumblings about the possibility of an ACC network back in the Summer of the 2012. In November of 2012 it appeared the ACC was in the exploratory phases with ESPN according to Duke AD Kevin White.  . Then the ACC signed it’s GOR in April of last year, and it an …
