Count me in on the bandwagon – Syracuse PG Tyler Ennis is now in the picture for Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Men’s Basketball Player of the Year (we knew he was going to be 1st team All-ACC – and an All-American – and now he gets a shot at the ACC’s top individual player award).
There’s something about this Syracuse team – they don’t get rattled when the games are close, as my friend, @TalkinACCSports said. They are in short resilient, as @JeffEisenberg says here.
Much of that has to do with the player who is your floor general on the court – Enter Tyler Ennis – he is cool, calm, and collected. And the team feeds of his leadership.
Boehim knew earlier in October at ACC Hoops Media Days that he had a special player in Tyler Ennis.
And he was right.
I predicted last week on the podcast with @TalkinACCSports that Syracuse would be undefeated in ACC play – and, yes, there’s a long road ahead for Syracuse. The Orange still have to play NC State, Maryland, and Florida State (who are all fighting for their NCAA tournament lives) and have to go on the road to Duke and Virginia.
But when you got a player like Tyler Ennis at point guard, you have a chance to run the table.
This will be a fun ride.
