Articles from around the ACC Blogosphere May 28, 2013.

acc_logoIt’s been a very successful week of sports in the ACC. Virginia wins the national title in Men’s Tennis, North Carolina won the national title in women’s lacrosse, and Duke finished the hat trick with a national championship in men’s lacrosse. The NCAA baseball tournament seedings were released Monday, and the ACC is well represented with 8 teams, 5 regional hosts, and 3 National top 8 seeds. Could the ACC add a 4th and 5th National Title in a few weeks in baseball and this week in golf? Georgia Tech and Florida state are competing with 30 teams in the NCAA golf tournament. OK ACC bloggers what’s your take on things?

TarHeelFanblog is feeling pretty good after North Carolina got the NCAA baseball tournament’s number 1 seed and a Women’s national title in lacrosse.

StreakingtheLawn says meet man Mitchell Frank: The Clutch Cavalier. Who’s he? He’s the tennis player that down 5-3 and a break to UCLA’s Adrian Puget rallied to deliver Virginia the National Title.

The Florida State Seminoles earned a top 8 seed in the College Baseball tournament. Tomahawknation tells us the committee did the right thing by looking at the Noles body of work. I agree, but NC State still should have been a top 8 seed too.

By the way NC State blog Backing the Pack compares NC State to an Oregon Duck team that got the last National Seed over the Wolfpack.  Do you think NC State deserved a national seed?

ShakintheSouthLand was prophetic in assessing Clemson’s poor chances of hosting a regional following a disastrous ACC tournament that saw the Tigers lose all 3 of their games. It turned out to be true. Clemson fans complaining about having to go to Columbia for the 2nd year in a row? Stop it… The Tigers had their shot and blew it with their poor play. Don’t leave it in the hands of the committee next time Tigers.

Lastly we couldn’t finish this post without mentioning the team and school most pumped about hosting a regional, the Virginia Tech Hokies. GobblerCountry says the Hokies have a chance to make history.
