Final Four lives up to hype, and now Louisville and Michigan play for it all.

NCAA Championship Game: Butler v Duke

Just a few short thoughts on the Final Four Saturday… Now that was fun wasn’t it? So many years the NCAA tournament has been a wild and thrilling event only to have the Final 4 be a snooze fest. Saturday it was wasn’t. Louisville and Michigan got everything they could handle from Wichita State and Syracuse in 2 games that went down to the final minute.

Like CBSSportsline says Now we get the nation’s number 1 offense Michigan vs the nation’s number 1 defense Louisville. Both teams spent time ranked number 1 in the country this year, and feature arguably the two best backcourts in the country. Peyton Siva and Russ Smith vs Trey Burke and Tim Hardaway Jr. More please! The interesting part is Saturday it wasn’t the more famous backcourts that were the difference.

Both teams got contributions from the end of their bench. Walk on Tim Henderson knocked down a couple of huge 3’s when Louisville was down double digits to get the Cardinals back in the game. Caris LeVert who averaged 2.2 points scored 8 tonight in a critical stretch for the Wolverines.

For all the craziness of the NCAA tournament it’s two teams that began the year in the top 5 playing for it all.

By the way did you catch Syracuse’s Jim Boeheim in post game interview? It was awesome… I can’t wait until this guy is in the ACC blowing up interviewers for dumb questions and dropping Sh*#@t bomb likes he did tonight.

Now I’m not the biggest Boeheim fan, but when Gregg Doyel of CBSSportsline asks are you coming back next year and then gets skewered by Boeheim it’s must see TV. The thing is Boeheim said he was coming back point blank several days ago on ESPN. I was watching this. So after a gut wrenching loss you can imagine Boeheim’s state of mind, and I have hard time feeling sorry for Doyel. Do your homework Gregg. We all knew he was coming back.
