I’m filling for @HokieSmash this week on the ACC power poll. Here’s how I see the ACC power poll going into the last week of the regular season.
Without further ado, here we go:
- Miami – I’m not going to penalize the Canes that much, after losing by 3 points on the road at Duke in the face of Ryan Kelly’s best game ever.
- Duke – I like what I saw out of Duke with Kelly back, but before I can move them past Miami, I’d like to see a little bit more out of them, like winning at UNC this week.
- North Carolina – Eventually UNC’s lack of size will catch up with them, but it might actually be awhile before that happens. The Heels are playing extremely well at the moment.
- NC State – You know I think the Wolfpack are finally turning the corner. They are beating the teams they are supposed to beat, and no longer showing that tendency to play down to their competition.
- Virginia – I believe UVA should be in the NCAA’s, but losing at Boston College really leaves a bad taste.
- Maryland – The Terps are running out of time to make the Big Dance. Maryland’s guard play should be better.
- Florida State – The Noles are here kind here of by default. They really are a pretty mediocre team.
- Boston College – BC is 2 points from having beat Duke, Miami, Virginia and Maryland at home.
- Clemson – Brad Brownell – go recruit.
- Georgia Tech – That was a nice win over Maryland, followed by a decent effort losing to NC State. If the Yellow Jackets had a really good PG, this would be a very dangerous team.
- Wake Forest – The Deacs on a good day can beat anyone in the conference. The problem is most days are bad for them.
- Virginia Tech – The fighting Erick Green’s -> that’s all you need to know.
