This time a week ago, the ACC had 5 teams in the NCAA tournament. Two remain… the unlikely and stirring story of NC State, and the powerhouse but star crossed North Carolina Tar Heels. Ok how do our bloggers feel about what’s been going on?
Let’s start with North Carolina Blog TarheelFanBlog who point out regardless of how badly Roy Williams may want to win a game he will defer playing Marshall to him and his family. I would expect nothing less from Roy Williams. Considering what I’ve read about the surgery which went well, I would be very surprised if Marshall plays against Ohio. If the Heels advance to play the Kansas\NC State winner I think you could see him play limited minutes somewhere 15-20 minute range. We won’t know much more until later in the week.
Now ok how are the NC State blogs doing? StateFansNations has video of the Wolfpack team returning to Raleigh and the ensuing celebration. BackingthePack gets inside the numbers of NC State’s big win over Georgetown.
I riled up some of my Duke friends when I suggested the Blue Devil program might be slipping a bit. DukeSportsBlog says Duke isn’t slipping, it’s more like a hiccup. @DukeBlogMKline wrote a good piece, nothing wrong with a little difference of opinion.
Tomahawknation reminds us that despite the Seminoles loss to Cincinnati, seniors on FSU’s team made basketball in Tallahassee nationally relevant. That is so true.
Virginia blog UniversityBall makes one thing clear. Even they Cavaliers lost in the first round of the NCAA’s that is still better than going to the NIT. I can’t disagree with that.
