Looking at Week 2 in the ACC.

CollegeFootball.Rivals has put together a good preview of Week 2 in the ACC. While week 3 will feature the marquee  matchups of ACC teams with Ohio State, Auburn, and Oklahoma, week 2 has what I’m terming ACC Trap Game week. This is what’s on tap for week 2. The schedule is pulled from theACC.com

Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, and Virginia looked great in their opening weekend wins. Now all 3 go on the road to face opponents they should beat, but are very dangerous.

They are calling for a sellout at Middle Tennessee St. Middle Tennessee nearly won at Purdue last and will be looking for revenge after a 42-14 loss in Atlanta last year. What I’ll be looking for here is do the Jackets actually have a legitimate passing game this year? The 365 yards passing last week was against Western Carolina.

Virginia Tech has to play at East Carolina. ECU scored over 30 against SEC East favorite South Carolina. We’ll find out if the Hokie defense is for real in this one. Good for Virginia Tech, that ECU has no defense.

Virginia has to head on the road to face a bad Indiana team. The Hoosiers are coming off a 27-20 loss Ball State. If the Cavaliers are as improved as we think, they should win even on the road.

I would really like to Boston College to rebound after disappointing performance against Northwestern.  The Eagles can’t a catch break. Montel Harris is still out and they lost WR Ifeanyi Momah for the season. Now they have to head on the road to face a Central Florida team more than capable of knocking of BC and sending the Eagles to 0-2.

It’s an interesting ACC game with NC State heading to Wake Forest. The Wolfpack struggled at times with Liberty, and the Deacs looked very good against Syracuse before QB Tanner Price got hurt. Price is expected back, with him in the game, this is one the Wolfpack can’t overlook.

At UNC just how good is Bryn Renner after a 22 of 23 passing performance? Ask me again after the Heels play Rutgers.

Clemson and Florida State get a couple of cupcakes before Auburn and Oklahoma come calling. Just don’t get anyone hurt.

Oh Duke plays Stanford… it’s a win if Blue Devils keep the spread under 40.
