The ACC’s 10 most intriguing OOC football games for 2023. (1-5)

With just a couple of weeks until the college football season, let’s take a brief look at the ACC’s most intriguing OOC games. The ACC has to win their fair of these games, as we move towards an expanded playoff where football SOS will be more valuable than ever.

Let’s rank the top 10 most intriguing OOC conference games, here we rank 1-5.

Most intriguing ACC OOC conference games 6-10

1) Florida State vs LSU – September 3, 2023

Florida State and LSU might be the top non-conference matchup in the entire country this year, a top 10 matchup, in primetime, and the only game on a Labor Day Weekend Sunday night. This game has huge potential playoff implications in week 1. What else can you say? This game has everything you want going into a college football matchup.

2) Notre Dame at Clemson  – November 4, 2023

The last time Notre Dame lost a regular season game against an ACC opponent was on November 11, 2017. They have two difficult games on this list. Notre Dame and Clemson have had some epic games in the past, and I expect this to be a top-25 matchup. Last year’s game was a wake-up call for Clemson as they got run out of South Bend, and the Tigers will be looking for revenge.

3) North Carolina vs South Carolina   – September 2, 2023

North Carolina vs South Carolina is a great intersectional matchup. Gameday will be there and the QB matchup between Drake Maye and Spencer Rattler should be a lot of fun. North Carolina really needs this game, or they will suddenly be looking at a 5 game losing streak with a likely first-round NFL quarterback running things. That wouldn’t be a good look for Mack Brown and the Tar Heels. Now should the Heels win watch out, because they could start week 2 in the top 15.

4) Notre Dame at NC State  – September 9, 2023

If things hold true to form, Notre Dame and NC State should enter this game this undefeated. NC State’s atmosphere should be wild for this one. I could see the Wolfpack starting the year 6-0 with a win in this game. Last season NC State got a nice non-conference win over Texas Tech, but Notre Dame is at a totally another level. We’ve already talked about how long it’s been since Notre Dame lost a regular season to an ACC team. Notre Dame better be ready for this one.

5) Texas A&M at Miami  – September 9, 2023

Miami was one of the most disappointing teams in the country last year, and well so was Texas A&M. The winner of this game season’s outlook could change. Mario Cristobal really didn’t have any wins last year to point to as truly noteworthy. This would grab some folk’s attention. Miami is at home, and it is time to excite the home fans.
