ACC Basketball Power Rankings (November 20, 2022)

ACC Team of the Week : Virginia – for beating top 20 teams Baylor and Illinois.

NET rankings and NCAA Projections will be added in future polls.

15. Louisville (0-3)

Last Week: n/a

Bellarmine, Wright State, and App State have wins over Louisville. The Cards are just terrible and could start the year 0-8, or 1-7.

14. Florida State (0-4)

Last Week: n/a

I saw this on twitter and it’s true – Florida State basketball had so die to Florida State football could live. They’ll be better as players return – I think.

13. Boston College (3-2)

Last Week: n/a

I wanted to like Boston College, but then they lost to Maine and something called Tarleton State by double digits.

12. Syracuse (2-1)

Last week: n/a

Syracuse has a double digit loss to Colgate. Colgate!

11. Pitt (3-3)

Last week:  n/a

Pittsburgh has lost three times, but they all are to possible NCAA teams Michigan, West Virginia, and VCU. I guess that’s a positive.

10. Clemson (3-1)

Last Week: n/a

Clemson lost to an awful South Carolina team which doesn’t help Brad Brownell, but at least it was Power 5 school as opposed to many of the ACC OOC losses.

9. Georgia Tech (3-0)

Last Week : n/a

Georgia Tech has won all the games they are supposed to early. In this year’s ACC that actually counts for something.

8. Wake Forest (4-1)

Last Week: n/a

Losing to Loyola Marymount is just bad. There is no other way to view that loss.

7. Notre Dame (4-0)

Last Week: n/a

There have been some close calls for the Irish, but they’ve managed to survive.

6. NC State (4-0)

Last Week: n/a

We’ll find out about NC State when they play Kansas.

5. Virginia Tech (5-1)

Last Week: n/a

Virginia Tech will learn from its loss to College of Charleston, where they made just too many mistakes late. They have a win over a decent Penn State team.

4. Miami (4-1)

Last Week: n/a

I’m not too worried about Miami in the long run, but getting thumped by Maryland proves there’s work to do.

3. Duke (3-1)

Last Week: n/a

Duke is really talented and has only a close loss to top 10 Kansas.

2. North Carolina (4-0)

Last Week: n/a

North Carolina seems a little off early, but they’ll be fine.

1. Virginia  (4-0)

Last Week: n/a

North Carolina didn’t do anything wrong, but when Virginia beats Baylor and Illinois on the same weekend that’s the best current resume in the ACC by a wide margin. Oh and they are carrying ACC Basketball right now.
