ACC 2021 Football Schedule

NC State
We haven’t always been the easiest on Dave Doeren on this blog, but last year was his best coaching job. We’ve said it before Doeren should have been the ACC Coach of Year in 2020, not Brian Kelly. When you look at the last four years, NC State has won at least 8 games in three of them. 2021 could be the year that Wolfpack truly turn the corner into perennial top 25 caliber team. They are close so close to making it happen. This is a program that appears to be in a good place.

Will Go 10-2 (6-2) if:
The offense plays to it’s potential. The Wolfpack are one the rare with ACC Teams with on the top ACC players at Quarterback in Devin Leary, Running Back in Bam Knight, and Wide Receiver Emeka Emezie. This offense has the potential to quite explosive. The defense ranked 71st in the country last year, but going into the season the Wolfpack may have the best set of linebackers in the ACC. They get Clemson and North Carolina at home and getting a split out of the two isn’t out of the question. With a few breaks, NC State could be a double digit win team.

Will Go 6-6 (3-5) if:
The Wolfpack can’t win on the road. NC State plays at Mississippi State, at Boston College, at Miami, at Florida State, and at Wake Forest. NC State could easily go 1-4 or even lose all 5 of these games. Clemson is probably a loss, and UNC could very well be too. You get to 5 or 6 losses in a hurry.  NC State has talent, but if it doesn’t come together this could be an inconsistent team that never gets going. Another season where both the offense and defense ranks again 70 or worse spells big trouble.
