ACC College Basketball Power Rankings after Week 5

#StayHealthy and practice social distancing.

15. Boston College (2-7)

Last week: 15

You’re going to lose a lot of games when you rank in the 300s on defense.

14. Wake Forest (3-1)

Last week: 14

Wake Forest is shorthanded and hasn’t played much. It showed against Georgia Tech.

13. Miami (4-4)

Last week: 13

Miami is 7 points from being 7-1, and they almost knocked off Clemson this past weekend. As they get players back, they will be very dangerous.

12. Notre Dame (3-6)

Last Week: 10

Notre Dame like Miami is better than their record, but they need to start finding some wins. Georgia Tech at home is a must win.

11. Pittsburgh (5-2)

Last Week: 12

How good is Pittsburgh? It’s hard to say until they get healthy.

10. North Carolina (6-4)

Last Week: 9

If UNC’s backcourt doesn’t start playing more consistently, there are going to be a lot of L’s in the Heel’s future.

9. Georgia Tech (6-3)

Last Week : 11

Georgia Tech has won 6 of their last 7, and keeps moving up. Georgia Tech needs a split at Notre Dame and at Louisville to stay on schedule.

8. Syracuse (6-1)

Last Week: 8

Syracuse has a nice record, but who are they really? Pittsburgh and Georgetown are this week.

7. Louisville (7-1)

Last Week: 7

If Louisville sweeps Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech, they could push for a top 4 spot.

6. Duke  (3-2)

Last Week: 6

Duke has played 1 game in nearly a month. Boston College and Wake Forest are good ways to ease back into the schedule.

5. NC State (6-1)

Last Week: 5

A game at Clemson is very intriguing this week. Miami is Saturday.

4. Virginia (5-2)

Last Week: 4

If Virginia is going to contend in the ACC this year, they shouldn’t have any problem with Wake Forest and Boston College.

3. Florida State (5-2)

Last Week: 2

Florida State is a good team, but the recent loss to Clemson keeps them out of the top 2. A game at Pittsburgh this week could be tricky.

2. Virginia Tech (8-1)

Last Week: 3

Virginia Tech has one of the ACC’s top games against Louisville this weekend. Can they hold on to their top 2 spot?

1. Clemson (8-1)

Last Week: 1

Clemson is winning even without their best game like against Miami this past weekend. It’s a big week for the Tigers as they host NC State and travel to UNC.
