There’s no reason to move Boston College from the bottom of these rankings.
14. Wake Forest (2-0)
Last week: 14
Wake Forest hasn’t played a game in nearly a month. We will see if the Syracuse game happens on the 30th.
13. Miami (4-2)
Last week: 13
Shorthanded Miami lost their first ACC game to Pittsburgh. A road game at Virginia Tech will be tough.
12. Pittsburgh (5-2)
Last Week: 12
Pitt lost star Justin Champagnie for 6-8 weeks. That’s a big big loss for the Panthers.
11. Georgia Tech (4-3)
Last Week : 10
Georgia Tech is slowly crawling out the hole from their debacle of a start. They won 4 of their last 5. UNC is on the 30th. That’s a must win.
10. Notre Dame (3-4)
Last Week: 9
I think Notre Dame is better than their record, but 3-4 is still 3-4.
9. North Carolina (5-3)
Last Week: 8
If North Carolina can’t figure out their perimeter shooting they are going to lose a lot more games.
8. Syracuse (6-1)
Last Week: 11
Syracuse has their next two games with Notre Dame and North Carolina post-poned. They have managed to avoid any bad losses and that counts for something.
7. Louisville (5-1)
Last Week: 4
Louisville got clobbered by Wisconsin, as they were just coming off COVID protocol. They rebounded with a win over Pitt. Louisville won’t have a better chance to beat Kentucky than this Saturday.
6. Duke (3-2)
Last Week: 6
Duke played well against Notre Dame, but I’m not ready to move them up past some of the more accomplished ACC teams.
5. NC State (5-1)
Last Week: 5
NC State without DJ Funderburk still beat North Carolina. This is a team to keep an eye on. Boston College is on the 30th.
4. Virginia (4-1)
Last Week: 7
I know there’s the loss to San Francisco, but Virginia has been pretty good other than that. A game with Gonzaga Saturday will show where Virginia is really at.
3. Virginia Tech (7-1)
Last Week: 4
Virginia Tech has been rock solid other than the Penn State loss. Miami is this week on the 29th.
2. Florida State (5-1)
Last Week: 2
What happened against UCF? Clemson will be a real test on the 29th.
1. Clemson (6-1)
Last Week: 1
Clemson still has the best resume in the ACC.
