ACC College Basketball Power Rankings after Week 3

#StayHealthy and practice social distancing.

15. Boston College (1-5)

Last week: 15

Boston College is one of the worst defensive teams in college basketball. BC really needs to move on from Jim Christian.

14. Wake Forest (2-0)

Last week: 11

Wake Forest hasn’t done anything wrong, but it’s hard not to move teams past them that win during the week.

13. Miami (3-1)

Last week: 9

Miami needs Chris Lykes back. That was an ugly loss to Florida Gulf Coast, but they did get the comeback over Purdue.

12. Pittsburgh (4-1)

Last Week: 14

Good week for Pitt, as they beat Northwestern and Gardner-Webb. Justin Champagnie already has a couple of 20/20 games.

11. Syracuse (4-1)

Last Week: 12

I’m still a little unsure about Syracuse after the loss to Rutgers, but they looked good against Boston College.

10. Georgia Tech (2-2)

Last Week : 13

Georgia Tech followed up their Kentucky victory by winning at Nebraska. They are light years better than at the start of the year.

9. Notre Dame (2-2)

Last Week: 10

Both of Notre Dame’s losses have been to top 25 teams. They won at Kentucky this weekend 64-63. A game with Duke this week is a big early season conference game.

8. North Carolina (4-2)

Last Week: 6

North Carolina was totally outclassed by Iowa, and then struggled with NC Central. Ohio State will be a very tough test for the Heels.

7. Virginia (3-1)

Last Week: 8

Virginia hasn’t played in awhile. Villanova if it happens this Saturday, is a big opportunity for the Hoos.

6. Duke  (2-2)

Last Week: 2

The only reason I’m a little forgiving of Duke is that both of their losses are to top 10 teams, but the Blue Devils have issues especially defending.

5. Virginia Tech (4-1)

Last Week: 1

Come on Virginia Tech you can’t lose at home by 20 to Penn State. Clemson is an intriguing game this week.

5. NC State (3-0)

Last Week: 7

NC State had a good matchup with Louisville this week, but it’s been postponed. They did not play this past week.

4. Louisville (4-0)

Last Week: 5

Louisville like a couple of other teams hasn’t played in awhile. It’s going to be awhile longer, with the postponement of the NC State game.

2. Florida State (3-0)

Last Week: 4

Florida State had a strong week beat Indiana and Florida. We’re wishing Florida player Keyonte Johnson a speedy recovery after his on court collapse in their game with FSU.

1. Clemson (5-0)

Last Week: 3

Clemson wiped out a pretty good Maryland team, and then followed it up by winning at Alabama. They continue to play the most consistent basketball in the conference, and need to be ranked in the top 20 right now.
