ACC College Basketball Power Rankings after Week 2

#StayHealthy and practice social distancing.

15. Boston College (1-3)

Last week: 9

Boston gave up over 180 points losses to St. Johns and Florida this past week.

14. Pittsburgh (2-1)

Last Week: 14

Pitt has won a couple of games in a row after their season opening loss. Check back if they beat Northwestern and Gardner-Webb.

13. Georgia Tech (1-2)

Last Week : 15

Georgia Tech finally played like the team we expected routing Kentucky. Now let’s see if Georgia Tech builds off it.

12. Syracuse (3-0)

Last Week: 13

If Syracuse wins at Rutgers this week, I’ll shoot them way up these rankings.

11. Wake Forest (2-0)

Last week: 12

Wake Forest had their game with Troy postponed. Presbyterian is this week.

10. Notre Dame (1-1)

Last Week: 11

Notre Dame picked up their first win of the year over Detroit-Mercy. We still don’t have a good feel for Mike Brey’s Irish.

9. Miami (2-0)

Last week: 10

Purdue will be a good test for Miami this week.

8. Virginia (3-1)

Last Week: 8

It’s going to take a win over Michigan State, before we can completely forget that loss to San Francisco.

7. NC State (3-0)

Last Week: 7

NC State has destroyed their opening three opponents. A win over Michigan would help validate the Wolfpack.

6. North Carolina (3-1)

Last Week: 3

If North Carolina had knocked off Texas, I’d probably have put them in the top 3. That said Roy Williams has something to work with this year.

5. Louisville (4-0)

Last Week: 6

If Louisville knocks off Wisconsin, we’ll really take notice of the Cardinals.

4. Florida State (1-0)

Last Week: 5

We’ll find out more about Florida State this week when they play Indiana and Florida.

3. Clemson (3-0)

Last Week: 4

Clemson has played some of the most consistent best basketball in the ACC early this season.

2. Duke  (2-1)

Last Week: 1

Duke really struggled in the 2nd half with Michigan State. They had to be dropped, and if they don’t beat Illinois they’ll fall further.

1. Virginia Tech (4-0)

Last Week: 2

Tell me why Virginia Tech shouldn’t be ranked #1 in the power poll right now. It’s about resume not projections, and the Hokies have earned it.
