Well we are still hoping there will be a college football season. There are plenty of posts regarding the probability of that, but if there is we’re going to have top 50 ACC players ranked for the season. We’ll largely take our top 5 at each position rankings for 45 of the 50.

Players 1-5 | Players 6-10 | Players 11-15 | Players 16-20 | Players 26-30 | Players 31-35 | Players 36-40 | Players 41-45 | Players 46-50

21) Carlos Basham, Jr, Wake Forest – #4 Defensive Lineman in the ACC

Wake Forest’s Carlos Bashman Jr. was second in the ACC in sacks and tackles for loss. Bashman named to multiple pre-season All-America teams, and one of Athlon’s top 50 players returning for next year. He is projected as a 2nd or 3rd round NFL pick, but could work himself into the 1st round with a strong senior season.

22) Micale Cunningham, Louisville – #3 Quarterback in the ACC

Quietly Micale Cunningham finished in the top 10 nationally in QBR rating. In 2019 Cunningham passed for 2061 yards with 22 TDs and only 5 Ints. He also ran for nearly 500 yards.

Micale Cunningham isn’t Lamar Jackson. Nobody is, but Cunningham has drawn some comparisons to Jackson. To even be discussed in the same sentence as Lamar Jackson though tells you the potential Louisville has at quarterback this year.

23) Ben Petrula, Boston College – #3 Offensive Lineman in the ACC

In Jeff Hafley’s first season at Boston College, he may inherited the best offensive line the ACC. The 6’5″ 310 lb offensive lineman was a 2nd team All-ACC Selection in 2019. He’s been a versatile lineman while at Boston College, and is a definite NFL prospect likely to go in the 2nd or 3rd round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

24) Michael Carter, North Carolina – #3 Running Back in the ACC

Michael Carter had a rock solid 2019 Junior season. He had a 1,000 yard season, and ran for 5.7 yards per carry. He showed his versatility by also catching 21 passes.

Along with Javonte Williams, Carter and Williams form what may be the best RB 1-2 punch in the ACC. He’s been projected anywhere from the 4th to 6th round of next year’s NFL Draft, and could go higher with a strong 2020 season.

25) D’Eriq King, Miami – #4 Quarterback in the ACC

Miami may have picked up the best transfer in all of college football in QB D’Eriq King. In his last full season in 2018 at Houston, he had 36 TD passes and 6 interceptions while throwing for nearly 3000 yards. He also had 674 yads on the ground. King could challenge Cunningham has the best dual-threat QB in the ACC.

He actually entered the 2019 season as a darkhorse Heisman candidate. He could be the spark the Miami offense desperately needs.
